Overview:
The GRS series low-cost, compact, wide-input isolated high-voltage module power supply is an industry-leading high-isolation regulated DC-DC high-voltage converter. It can operate under unstable input voltage conditions with wide fluctuation ranges. Its internal regulation circuit generates isolated and regulated high-voltage DC output.
The new GRS series adopts an ultra-compact SIP 7-pin (single inline 7-pin) modular design. The low-cost integrated technical solution delivers high DC/DC conversion efficiency. Designed with ample internal creepage distance and innovative isolation materials, this high-voltage power module features 6000VDC high isolation between input and output, alongside regulated output with self-recovering overload and short-circuit protection. The module’s high-isolation design effectively suppresses common-mode interference transferred from primary-side equipment to control systems. It also provides protection against hazards to equipment and personnel caused by ground loop currents or high potential differences between primary and secondary ground nodes.
Widely deployed in blood analyzers, laboratory instruments, ultrasonic equipment for medical applications, petrochemical facilities, communication infrastructure and other fields, its excellent high-voltage DC output performance and high-withstand-voltage isolation design resolve most challenges encountered by end users.

Note: If further reduction of input and output ripple is required, the parameters of the LC filter can be increased appropriately. However, note that the external capacitor at the output terminal shall not be oversized and must be less than the maximum capacitive load of the product.
1. Test Methods for Main Parameters of DC-DC Power Modules:
Adopt standard Kelvin four-terminal input and rated load test (as shown in the figure)
Test Conditions: Ambient temperature TA=25℃, humidity <75%, nominal input voltage or rated load

2. Reference Methods for Reducing Noise and Common-Mode Interference during Application of DC-DC Power Modules:
Power modules generate common-mode and differential-mode noise when operating at switching frequency. To reduce ripple and noise, passive LC or RC (higher loss) filter networks can be installed at the input and output terminals. The self-resonant frequency of inductor L shall be much higher than the switching frequency of the module. Its rated current is recommended to be more than twice the maximum input current of the module, and its internal resistance should be low to reduce DC power loss.
For fixed-frequency modules, parameters of the filter network can be calculated. Generally, differential-mode noise is low, and an external L1 (common-mode choke) at the input is sufficient to meet the requirements (as shown in the figure).

3. Isolation Withstand Voltage Test Method for DC-DC Power Modules:

Safety Precautions & Standard Procedures for Product High-Voltage Isolation Test:
● As shown in Figure 1: Set the rated high voltage value per the product isolation voltage specification. Strictly pay attention to personal safety during testing to avoid electric shock!
Test Conditions: Ambient temperature TA=25℃, Humidity <75%
● Operators performing dielectric withstand tests must wear rubber insulating gloves with a dielectric withstand voltage higher than 10kV. Insulating mats shall be laid on the workbench and floor to prevent high-voltage electric shock.
● The hipot tester must be reliably grounded. Testing shall not be conducted under high-temperature, humid or dusty environments.
● Never perform live wiring when connecting the device under test (DUT) to the hipot tester; ensure the output voltage of the high-voltage tester is zero before connection.
● Do not touch the DUT, test leads, high-voltage wiring or test fixtures while the instrument is running or before the high voltage is fully discharged.
● Product test procedure is illustrated in Figure 1: Parallel all pins of the input terminal and output terminal respectively, then apply the specified isolation voltage for 1 minute.
● Per dielectric withstand test standards: Ramp the test voltage gradually from 0V up to the specified maximum withstand voltage, and hold the maximum voltage for 1 minute.
● The hipot test is inherently destructive to the product; minimize the number of test cycles. If multiple tests are required by customers: the first test shall use the full rated voltage specified in the datasheet, and the test voltage shall be reduced correspondingly for each subsequent test. Repeated testing at full voltage will degrade product performance or cause permanent damage.
